Thrasher Skate Teams

If you pick up the June 2012 issue of Thrasher Magazine (#383), you'll see I did some artwork for an article titled: "Sporting Chance".  The concept behind it is a hypothetical world where there is some sort of skateboarding league with franchises.  But as article's author Adam Creagan puts it, "This whole set-up is just an excuse to create some jacked team logos."

Shipyard Skates 2012

I've had the pleasure of being involved the the design of several projects for Shipyard Skateboards this year.  Not only as part of their website redesign (pictured at the top and bottom of this post), but also getting to illustrate 2 different screen printed skate decks.  Shipyard Skates is a skater owned small company that screen prints all of its decks on custom shaped wood.  Support a great company!  Shipyard Skates

Books On Wheels Kickstarter!

Books on Wheels is a Richmond, VA based non-profit organization that provides free books and free bicycle repair. Since 2007, they have donated over 40,000 books and worked on hundreds of bicycles all over the country in an attempt to promote literacy and healthy lifestyles.

Over the course of the past 6 years, Books on Wheels has operated out of 2 really amazing school buses that they very intentionally painted bright colors to draw attention and create excitement. 2 years ago, they sold their small school bus in order to downsize and boost productivity within our organization. More recently, they sold the large school bus to a really great local organization and bought a Ford Transit Van to use for all of the Books on Wheels events. Now that the organization has become even more manageable and efficient, They are ready to decorate the van!!

They are raising funds through a kickstarter project to buy magnets, decals, and signs to decorate the van.  I provided some artwork for these decals and signs, as well as the the shirt graphic below.  They've already meet the very modest goal set here, but additional funds go to a great cause (plus you get a shirt!). Check it out and spread the word.
