Books On Wheels Kickstarter!

Books on Wheels is a Richmond, VA based non-profit organization that provides free books and free bicycle repair. Since 2007, they have donated over 40,000 books and worked on hundreds of bicycles all over the country in an attempt to promote literacy and healthy lifestyles.

Over the course of the past 6 years, Books on Wheels has operated out of 2 really amazing school buses that they very intentionally painted bright colors to draw attention and create excitement. 2 years ago, they sold their small school bus in order to downsize and boost productivity within our organization. More recently, they sold the large school bus to a really great local organization and bought a Ford Transit Van to use for all of the Books on Wheels events. Now that the organization has become even more manageable and efficient, They are ready to decorate the van!!

They are raising funds through a kickstarter project to buy magnets, decals, and signs to decorate the van.  I provided some artwork for these decals and signs, as well as the the shirt graphic below.  They've already meet the very modest goal set here, but additional funds go to a great cause (plus you get a shirt!). Check it out and spread the word.

Thrasher Magazine #373

I'm probably posting this too late for people to pick this up from the news stands, but I illustrated a four page spread for Thrasher Magazine issue #373 ( August 2011).  The article, titled "Slam Demons", was written by Adam Creagan and is a list of different types of personified skate wrecks.  In case your local skate shop doesn't have any extra copies laying around, you can see the art and read piece on the Thrasher website.

New Bunnyhop Shirts

Bunnyhop Bike Shop just got these shirts and stickers in.  They run a great shop that I'm proud to have done this work for, and I'm really happy with the way they came out.  Stop by and pick one up!  918 West Grace Street, Richmond Virginia.

Disturbia: Excess in All Areas

The new collection from Disturbia Clothing just dropped, and I've got 3 designs in the line up, including the namesake "Excess All Areas".  If you don't know anything about this UK based clothing company, and you're a fan of illustration, then check them out.  All of their clothes incorporate ornate illustration by a variety of international talent.  So what are you waiting for? Go buy something! You can see the larger versions of my work on my Flickr page too.

Book Wolf

Some friends are driving around the country taking donated books, and giving them away in different communities at book fairs and other events.  They asked me to draw up some designs for decals to put on their RV, and of course I jumped at the opportunity.  With a name like "Book Wolf", and Ward's affinity for wizards, how could I not?  I haven't seen the final versions in person yet, because it was too could to put them on when they left Virginia.  These are some photos they sent from the road.  To see larger images, visit my flickr page, and for more info on Book Wolf, visit the Books on Wheels site.
